GUST Graduate Scholarship at Gulf University for Science & Technology in Kuwait, 2018


Applicants are invited to apply for a fully funded GUST Graduate Scholarship to complete master’s and doctoral degree programs. The scholarship is open only to Kuwaiti students.

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide quality higher education leading to a master’s / doctorate degree for students with strong academic results and who have the desire to positively influence the strategy of the GUST.

The University of Science and Technology of the Gulf (GUST) is the first private university founded in Kuwait.

Description of the scholarship:

Deadline for applications: Applications are open for submission throughout the year. Students planning to finish their studies in the summer of 2018 can also apply.

Course Level: The scholarship is available for master’s and doctoral studies.

Purpose: The scholarship is awarded in the field offered by the university.

Scholarship: The scholarship will cover the following:

Academic teaching and mandatory study fees.

Health insurance for the duration of studies.

Annual ticket (economy class).

Eligibility for the scholarship:

Eligible countries: Kuwait

Entry Requirements: Applicants must be citizens of Kuwait, they have graduated from GUST and have completed at least B + or 3.30 GPA. Applicants must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of English and be able to meet all the academic, entrance and other requirements of the relevant higher education institutions. Candidates can not be less than twenty-five (25) years old until October 1st following the appointment of the fellow.

How to Apply:

  • A letter from the college dean indicating the area of specialization the student must follow.
  • An unconditional acceptance letter from a US university pre-approved by GUST and recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Kuwait Cultural Office in Washington, D.C.
  • A resume stating their educational achievement(s) and work experience.
  • Two academic letters of reference from GUST faculty.
  • Copies of transcripts and any admission exams results (e.g.: GMAT, TOEFL or IELTS).
  • Scanned copy of the Civil ID card, and the passport photo page.
  • Further documentation may be requested once all of the documents mentioned above have been received.
